Ride Down the Parc des Sommets de Bromont

The 105 km of mountain bike trails of Bromont’s Parc des Sommets network will seem almost endless (access for a fee). Enduro or cross-country? The many trails in this park and on Oak Mountain will give you all the thrills you’ve been looking for. Through the woods, on banked turns, jumps and rock slabs, the trails here are carefully laid out to ensure you have a great and safe time surrounded by Bromont’s natural landscapes. Whether you’re a pro or a novice, you’ll find an adventure to suit you! A range of suggested loops and circuits for beginners to experts are available on AllTrails.

Reward Yourself!

Far from the stereotypes associated with the world of microbreweries, Les Brasseurs de West Shefford invite you to their Refuge for a refreshing après-vélo! In partnership with the Amis du sentier du Parc des Sommets network, these talented brewers have created “La Récompense”, a blond beer with a light fruity taste enjoyed by numerous Bromont sports enthusiasts!

Try the Fine Chardo Cuisine

We’ve come here again and again! Chardo restaurant and wine bar is a local institution in Bromont. Right in the heart of the Old Village, it’s a great place to sip a glass of organic wine on the terrace when the weather’s fine. But the main attraction is the menu. Successfully blending local ingredients with inspirations from other parts of the world, you’ll find original dishes such as bison tataki and Bàhn mi style beef tartare. A creative and contemporary cuisine that we know we’ll hear you rave about.

Spend the Night at Hôtel Vallea

Refined and elegant, Hôtel Vallea invites you to discover its intimate, comfortable and spacious rooms. Ideally located at the entrance to Bromont, sleeping here means you’ll be able to get back on the road quickly in the morning. But don’t leave too early! The continental breakfast is hearty, but above always well balanced. Chia seeds, berry pudding, applesauce... You’ll have enough to create a breakfast worthy of the greatest athletes!

Head Across the Eastern Townships

It’s time to say goodbye to the mountains of the Brome-Missisquoi region and head for the green (and equally mountainous) landscapes of the Mégantic region. It’s a 2-hour drive from one end of the Eastern Townships to the other! Turn this drive into a mini road trip by planning a few stops along the Circuit des Sheds Panoramiques. Without making any detours, you’ll pass Ascot Corner, East Angus and even Hampden. Each of them will introduce you to one of the characteristic panoramas of the Townships.

Take on the Mount Mégantic Challenge

Warm up your calves because you’re about to climb the toughest climb in Québec! For the hard-core cyclist in you, the ascent of Mount Mégantic is a complete loop (from the lake to Mount Mégantic) of 76.8 km on paved roads. Set off from the charming village of Piopolis, and admire the panoramic views from the road overlooking Lake Mégantic. The 5.3 km ascent to the Mount Megantic Observatory may make you feel dizzy, but the view from the summit is a great reward!

Visit the ASTROlab and the Observatory

Having made such a great effort to climb Mont Mégantic (known as one of Québec’s leading stargazing sites), take this opportunity to learn more about the fascinating world of astronomy. With a visit to both the ASTROlab interpretation centre at the foot of the mountain and the observatory at its summit, you’ll definitely leave with stars in your eyes and in your head! Enough to give you a boost for your return trip to Piopolis.

Fall Asleep at Auberge au Soleil Levant

Now here’s a great story to tell at the end of the day: You’ve taken on the Mount Mégantic cycling challenge! But for now, savour this moment of exhilarating joy by treating yourself to a delicious supper at the Auberge du Soleil Levant in Piopolis. With a full belly and tired legs, you’ll be delighted to sleep in one of the Auberge’s 4 cozy, spacious rooms. Psst... We recommend you choose the one with the outside terrace (overlooking the marina) to watch the sunrise, of course!
