What to do this weekend - Memphremagog in the spotlight

In Memphremagog, the fall is gradually making itself felt….. What better way to admire the changing leaves than to take a trip by kayak or by bike, coupled with gourmet and cultural activities? In this region of the Townships, you’ll find fun (and educational) things to satisfy your curiosity, colour displays that will dazzle your eyes and tempting treats for your taste buds. Time to gear up for autumn!

The Flambée des couleurs Magog-Orford kicks off this weekend

Magog-Orford’s popular fall colour festival, known for its varied and lively programming, is once more welcoming visitors. Activities at Mont Orford include rides on the ski lift and snacks at the foot of the mountain. Other attractions include food trucks and an exterior bar. Full full details, check out the Mont Orford website.

A « passport » gives access to gourmet experiences along the « Route gourmande Memphrémagog »

The Fête des vendanges Magog-Orford, the region’s annual Harvest Festival, has created a passport allowing purchasers to follow a route that takes in 2 vineyards, 1 microbrewery and 3 regional food producers. The passport (available online) allows you to sample a diverse range of gourmet goodies – a veritable treat for foodies and wine aficionados!

Sink your teeth into crunchy apples from the Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac!

Known for its fascinating history, cultural role in the community and regional food products, this Benedictine monastery tops the must-see list of many visitors to the Eastern Townships and this is the time of year when its orchards are open to the public. Visitors can pick their own fruit, as well as purchase apple products and cheeses (the monastery’s specialty) at the on-site boutique.

Every weekend until Thanksgiving

A kayak trip along the Missisquoi North River with Station O’Kataventures

Looking for an adventure or just a relaxing outing? Station O’Kataventures is running kayaking trips down the meandering Missisquoi River – a great way to admire the changing leaves! And while you’re in the area, why not opt for staying overnight at the Nature Plein Air campground, then the next day, exploring the nearby hiking trails?

Art on display in Georgeville

Well worth a detour is a visit to Studio Georgeville, where the artwork of the talented participants in the annual Festival des arts de Georgeville-Fitch Bay is currently on display. The Festival is normally held at a variety of venues, but this year it will be the work itself that will be rotated – a diverse collection of watercolours, jewelry, hand-dyed silk scarves and much, much more…

Until November 8

Enjoy the region’s bike trails

The Sentier Nature Tomifobia bike trailhttps://www.easterntownships.org/cycling/circuit/10/tomifobia-nature-trail, linking Ayer’s Cliff with Stanstead, is an ideal venue for a bike ride amid a setting of Mother Nature’s glorious displays of fall colours. After the ride, you can refresh yourself with a glass of cold milk at La Pinte, known for its distinctive, vintage-style glass bottles.

The Massawippi Axis, which connects Lennoxville with North Hatley, is another beautiful bike trail. We suggest parking your vehicle in Lennoxville, then taking your lunch break or an aperitif in North Hatley. The view over Lake Massawippi from the pedestrian walkway, is just stunning!
