What to do this weekend – May 14-16

The great outdoors, microbreweries, cultural outings…Even thought the regionis back in the red zone, there’s something for everyone in the Townships this weekend. Here are some suggestions!

Paddle (and pedal!) around the Marais de la Rivière aux Cerises

How does this sound? A peaceful paddle around the meandering waterways of the Cherry River Marsh, amid the stunning backdrop of mountain scenery….The wetlands are on the doorstep of Magog where you’ll find Vie de plein air (it kicks off its summer season this Saturday), an outdoor company that rents out kayaks, paddle boards and pedalos. The choice is yours!

Explore our scenic backroads by bike

If you’re looking for some new circuits to explore on your bike, take a look at these four Gravel Bike Routes in different areas of the Townships. These scenic backroads are quiet and safe, allowing you to truly absorb the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Discover our new microbreweries beers

Across the region, several microbreweries recently made their debut! Why not plan to visit one of them (or better still, all three!) this summer? Even if it is not possible to eat and drink on site due to the region's transition to the red zone, you can still order their delicious products to discover them at home!

Visit virtually some of the region’s artisans

Our region is brimful of artists and artisans who are not only talented, but passionate about their chosen métier. Here’s one typical example – Moulins Tremblay, where Sylvain Tremblay crafts quirky, stylish salt and pepper shakers.

Check out the Etienne Saint-Amant – Natural Geometries exhibition

Artist Étienne Saint-Amant, employing mathematical formulas, has created the twenty-three large-format works that comprise the Natural Geometries (Géométries Naturelle) temsporary exhibition, currently showing at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Sherbrooke. Don’t miss it!
