Golf Courses to Enjoy Magog and the Surrounding Region

Published on May 10, 2023

Playing golf in the Memphremagog region is all about challenging yourself, enjoying spectacular views and experiencing the best après-golf. Here are five golf courses to add to your list of places to visit this summer!

Mont-Orford Golf Club

Located in the Parc national du Mont-Orford, this hilly, stream-crossed course offers many challenges typical of mountain golf courses. While playing here requires an extra effort, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent mountain views. After your game, relax on the clubhouse terrace with a refreshment or a snack. Psst! The place is especially nice in late summer when the sun slowly sets behind Mount Orford.

Nearby
The Magog beach, Pointe-Merry Park and downtown Magog are just minutes away from the golf course. Whether it’s for a relaxing moment on the shores of the lake, a shopping spree or a good meal, you will find plenty of options!

Manoir des Sables Golf Club

This Golf Club has a few holes that deserve your full attention! The fourth hole offers a spectacular view of Mount Orford and requires a precise tee-off shot to avoid the water on the right. But rest assured, the Manoir des Sables course is as much for the casual golfer as for expert players! And if you feel like staying in the area, combine your round of golf with an overnight stay at the hotel, which features 140 rooms and suites.

Nearby
Canton Brasse microbrewery, Dora Café & Marché local, La Mie d’Orford, Bowen Café, Le Four à Bois d’Orford, Steforno La Fabrique ... so many places where you can eat and drink, only two minutes from the Manoir des Sables!

Owl’s Head Golf Club

The Owl’s Head Golf Club with its fieldstone clubhouse is located in the middle of nature at the foot of Mount Owl’s Head. On the course, you’ll probably find it hard to stay focused because of the beautiful landscapes! However, be careful to keep your aim straight since six of the eighteen fairways having water obstacles.

Nearby
Ten minutes from the golf club, the charming village of Mansonville welcomes you with its Equinoxe microbrewery, its Appalaches Torréfacteur Roaster Café, its Owl’s Bread bakery and its Euro-Delli du Village restaurant-grocery store.

Dufferin Heights Golf Club

Located in Stanstead, this golf course has a remarkable signature 10th hole! Because the tee-off mound is elevated from the fairway, it offers golfers a splendid view of Lake Memphremagog and the surrounding mountains. In autumn, the amazing surrounding colours make it all the more spectacular. The rest of the course also offers some nice challenges and other views overlooking the area.

Nearby
Head to the heart of the village of Ayer’s Cliff. Enjoy a beer on the terrace of the Ayer’s Cliff Inn or sip coffee at Café Folies. For ice cream, stand in line at Wood’s Snack Bar and for a dining experience, find a table at the Riverain, the chic Ripplecove Hotel & Spa restaurant.

North Hatley Golf Club

In the mood for a round of golf? Head to North Hatley and its nine-hole course. With its very hilly first half of the course, challenging holes and a high probability of encountering deer and turtles, your golf game here is likely to be quite unusual! Interestingly, this course welcomed Bill Clinton, former President of the United States, during a visit to the Eastern Townships. .

Nearby
While in North Hatley, stop by the pier to admire Lake Massawippi. Feeling hungry? Choose the Pilsen restaurant or the Pub de La Cie Vilandré. Looking for a little luxury? Stop by the Manoir Hovey for dinner or an overnight stay.
