Hey! Is the zoo really open in winter? Of course it is! In fact, the cold months of winter are the best time of the year for many animals, among them the snow leopards, the Japanese macaques and the Amur tigers that you will have the pleasure of observing. A suggestion: Bring your skates! They have a refrigerated ice rink on site (opens December 26).
Then drive south for about 17 km to the Musée du Chocolat de la Confisrie Bromont. A free unguided visit will have you learn all about the history of the cocoa bean and the production of cocoa trees in the world, and in the adjoining restaurant, order a comforting hot chocolate drink made with Belgian chocolate.
An extra 7 km further but still in Bromont, you’ll find yourself at the Backbone climbing centre. Have you ever taken on a 5-meter-high wall? Push back your limits one block at a time without fear because their thick mats will break your fall.
