What to do this weekend – May 3-5

This weekend, many things are sure to pique your curiosity – horses, international movies, an educational day immersed in the woodlands of Mont Orford and some unique places to stay overnight in the Eastern Townships. Need we say more?

A day themed around Mont Orford’s woodlands

Saturday will be a day dedicated to the many aspects of Mont Orford’s forest environment at the bottom of the mountain. A mini-conférence (about forest vegetation such as wild mushrooms and woodland plants), a garbage collection race, hikes, exhibitions, food trucks, a youth zone… Hours to spend in an educational and truly sustainable way!

Head for the horse competitions

On Saturday and Sunday, with Le Printanier, Bromont’s Equestrian Olympic Park is hosting a series of competitions featuring professional and amateur riders. Show jumping, dressage, eventing and so on. For horse-lovers, truly a feast for the eyes!

A craft market in Bromont

If you like pretty or unique or handcrafted things, you’ll find a ton of them this weekend at the market being held outside the Hotel Château Bromont. The market, which is being organized by the Eastern Townships branch of ETSY (an e-commerce global marketplace) runs from 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be lots of beautiful things for sale and some 50 artisans will be on site.

The Festival du cinéma du monde de Sherbrooke… in Megantic!

If you missed the international film festival in Sherbrooke last month, now is your chance to catch up with the movies screened at that event as well as the actvities themed around it. From May 2-5, the FCMS will be reprising the film fest at five different locations around Lac Megantic.
