Cycling
235 km
10 stops
3 days
Treat yourself to an escape that combines gourmet moments and adventure cycling across 230 km of gravel roads through the Eastern Townships. Spread over 3 days and 2 nights, this itinerary invites you to ride through a variety of landscapes—from fields and forests to gravel trails and scenic mountain views.
Starting from Sutton, embark on this first day of adventure, covering 85 km before reaching your base camp at Yamaska National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass by some of the region’s most iconic peaks: Mount Sutton, Mount Brome, and Mount Shefford. Despite the mountainous surroundings, the route remains manageable for experienced cyclists. A few paved bike paths—including the renowned Estriade of the Yamaska Cycling Network—add a touch of smoothness between gravel sections, and there’s no shortage of tasty stops to enjoy between the Brome-Missisquoi and Granby areas!
This charming café offers healthy menus that highlight local products. Their Yamabiko roasted coffee will delight any coffee lover and provide a delicious start to your adventure.
Part café, part wine bar, and part boutique, this stop offers a delightful selection of sandwiches, salads, and homemade pastries, with vegan and gluten-free options available.
After training in France, Jean-Philippe and Nathalie now welcome you to enjoy high-quality ciders and other local products.
With its panoramic terrace and welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, La Ferme offers excellent craft beers brewed with local ingredients. A quality stop to end your day’s ride.
Certified “Bienvenue cyclistes,” Yamaska National Park Campground is a perfect place to spend the night in nature, with easy access to the lake.
Ease into your day by completing the northern portion of the Choinière Reservoir cycling loop. The odometer will show slightly fewer kilometers on this second day of adventure (66 km in total), but don’t be fooled—today’s ride brings a few more climbs! As you ride through rural roads and country lanes, you’ll gradually enter the Val-Saint-François region—a true paradise for gravel lovers. Note: while most of the day will feel like you're cruising through quiet backroads, you’ll need to tackle a long stretch of paved road to reach your overnight stop. But trust us—it’s well worth it!
Along this gravel road, a stunning panoramic view of Mount Orford unfolds around a bend. The perfect energy boost for day two of your ride! Psst... This viewpoint is also part of the La boucle des érables gravel loop.
Whether you're looking to stock up on fresh produce or just take a break for a bite, Chez Duff is one of the few shops along your route today. They offer a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as delicious pastries.
Jean-Paul and Marie-Chantal have created a peaceful haven at their sheep farm and cheese factory. They offer a wide variety of local cheeses, including the Zacharie Cloutier, named Quebec’s best cheese in both 2011 and 2014.
Enjoy a well-deserved rest at Laö Cabines, an eco-friendly retreat nestled in nature. You can pitch your tent or opt for one of their cozy cabins for full relaxation.
You’ve already reached the final day of The Gravel Foodie Route! On the agenda: a scenic ride of 84 km filled with rolling climbs and descents—plus a few last gourmet stops (of course!).
A must-stop for foodies! Whether you're starting your day with a buttery croissant or grabbing some bread for the road, this bakery is a can't-miss spot in Racine.
Take a break mid-day at this friendly microbrewery pub in Knowlton. Passionately brewed beers and generous pizzas make this the perfect final stop on your cycling adventure.
Congratulations! You’ve covered over 230 km and climbed nearly 3,000 meters of elevation in three days. Celebrate your accomplishment with a cold beer or a delicious meal at the Brouërie.
