To truly be able to share an experience, one must have lived it. This is why we love to surround ourselves with people who are ready to try all kinds of different things, whether its outdoor activities, gastronomy or … just about anything!

Experts in their field that are here to tell us — in their own words, pictures or videos — different moments that have marked their adventures in the Townships.

Simon Diotte

Freelance journalist and editor in chief of Géo Plein Air, Simon Diotte is passionate about nature and outdoor activities. His favourite sports include: Canoeing, kayaking, hiking and cross-country skiing. Although he enjoys sports challenges, he also loves spending quality family time in nature with his two daughters. His mission: To multiply her outdoor activity experiences in the Townships so she can talk about these in her own words and pictures.

Nadia Fredette

Nadia Fredette is a native of our beautiful Eastern Townships countryside! Trained at the Rivière-du-Loup CEGEP in their Community Recreation program, she started her career by having visitors from all walks of life discover the Lanaudière sector’s outdoor activities. When she returned to her home region, she joined the Sentiers de l’Estrie organization and their many projects as a general manager to promote hiking activities for all levels. Through her video capsules, she offers hiking enthusiasts many outing ideas and practical advice.

Jessica Belisle

Jessica is a math teacher, endurance cyclist and recent triathlete who came to sports relatively late in life. Through her travels and adventures, she have accumulated cycling and human experiences and explored some of the most beautiful regions of Quebec, Canada and Europe. Recently, she relocated to the Eastern Townships and have been enjoying riding the quiet country roads of this supremely bike-friendly region. It is with great pleasure that, through a series of short posts, she will be sharing highlights from my new home.

Ian Roberge (4000 Hikes)

The founder of the blog 4000 Hikes, Ian is a photographer and is passionate about the great outdoors. He’s always looking for new places to capture with his camera. Since a very young age, this Eastern Townships native has been exploring the region’s trails, searching for more and more beautiful summits. Every weekend, he goes off to discover or rediscover our surrounding nature and tries all kinds of new experiences that he then shares with us.

Ariane Arpin-Delorme

Author of 5 books, travel columnist and consultant, CEGEP Tourism Techniques Program teacher and speaker, Ariane Arpin-Delorme is truly passionate about all her endeavours. Having travelled to more than 75 countries, she has collected a ton of experiences within the tourism industry. She founded the Parfums d’Asie tourism agency a couple of years ago, then Esprit d’Aventure in 2013. What drives her? Travelling, writing, being introduced to different cultures, rambling and hiking up high peaks, diving and sailing! In 2019, she completed Megantic’s Mini-Compostelle Route, and right away felt the need to return to the Townships to enjoy more adventures here.

Yvan Martineau

Yvan Martineau is a “tourism and outdoors” commentator for Cogeco 98.5 fm. He’s also a reporter for the Grands prix cyclistes at TVA Sports and spokesperson for the Salon du vélo de Montréal. He hosted the television series La France à vélo, L'Amérique à vélo (Canal Évasion) and Culture Vélo (TVA). As a resident of the Townships, it’s only natural for Yvan to cumulate outdoor outings in the region, of which many are done on his bike! Katerine-Lune Rollet

Katerine-Lune Rollet has been working in front of television cameras since the age of 16. First as an actress (in Watatatow) and then as host and commentator (Ricardo, Des Kiwis et des hommes, Infoman, Montréalité). To share her passion for gastronomical tourism, she also collaborates with Coup de Pouce magazine, Le Journal de Montréal and Ici Première. Also in her CV: Une Foodie dans les Cantons video capsules in which she shares her favourite treats and gourmet discoveries in the region.

Caroline Savard

Caroline Savard is Vice-President of Customer’s Satisfaction, Event planning & Technical assistance for her three humans. She is also editor in chief of Wooloo.ca and creator of ludic content for Mamanpourlavie.com and Omaïki.ca. She love the beautiful, she love being active and she laugh every single day! She’s also quite curious, which brings her, along with her children, to head out and test everything that could be fun to do in the Townships as a family!
