Stuck for something to do this weekend in the Townships? Here are some great suggestions that will inspire you to have fun and recharge your batteries!
Stock up with the fresh produce currently available at the Marché de la Gare in Sherbrooke, one of the few public markets still open at this time of year. This week’s offerings include carrots, parsnips, rutabagas and other root vegetables – the ideal ingredients to make a tasty soup for the family!
Throughout the Townships are dozens of establishments where you can satisfy your sweet tooth! For decadent doughnuts, drop into Sherbrooke’s Ça Beigne. For irresistible pastries, there’s Les Vrais Richesses (also in Sherbrooke). Then there’s the Belgian-style (and positively sinful!) chocolate made by Chocolats Vanden Eynden in Magog. And if you’re looking for a birthday cake inscribed with a personal message, look no further than Gâteaux Duvoquic in Waterloo….. Need to take a break and step back from your daily routine? The following are revitalizing venues where you can enjoy some ‘me time’, as you take stock of your life and recharge your batteries…
Even though the fall colours are past their peak, walking in a forest is still a wonderful experience! To plan an outing this weekend, we’ve described six places in the region where you can go for a woodland walk and enjoy nature to the fullest. One word of warning however. If you’re planning to visit a mountain venue, please be aware that this is the middle of the hunting season. Some trails are currently closed – so before setting out, consult our guide Hiking during hunting season.
2 metres, 20 seconds, a face covering... You know the drill. This summer, we all need to do our part to make this vacation season both enjoyable and responsible.
(In fact, I can even stand apart.)
(Anyways in #touristmode, I'm in no hurry!)
(Ring ahead to avoid the crowd... it’s that simple!)
(I promise... this is no time to joke around.)
Together - For a safe vacation - Let’s be responsible.
