Our cities and towns all have something unique to offer you. Whether it’s a place, a product, a landscape, an attraction or an event, you’ll always have at least five good reasons for visiting them! Here's Saint-Venant-de-Paquette.

By Carolyne Parent

Welcome to this charming little town, the smallest in the MRC of Coaticook! From its past, we retain that it was built in this green valley, thanks to the courage of such settlers as Hermine Malouin-Lefebvre (1841–1941), a strong and determined woman, still honoured here today. We also learn that the first rural area Caisse populaire Desjardins was established here as well, in 1907. However, as small as the town is physically, it carries an abundance of culture! Let’s take a look at what it offers!

Explore The Pioneer Trail

Let’s situate the village within its surroundings by clicking here: This road map gives a voice to those who built the region. At Saint-Venant-de-Paquette, a special tribute is paid to this amazing Hermine. You’ll easily find a life-size steel panel cut-out of her silhouette placed a few steps away from the municipal hall, right in the heart of the village. It’s truly an inspiring introduction, because through the stele’s audio device, this heroine shares her own story and that of her era. She’ll even accompany you as you explore the town thanks to the Les rendez-vous d’Hermine circuit, which includes stops on the Sentier poétique, the Musée-église and in the cemetery. You can find these audio-guides by going to the Maison de l’arbre.
