What to do this weekend – September 10-12

Another great weekend is coming up in the Eastern Townships! Here are some suggestions for not-to-be-missed activities…

Harvest season along the Wine Route

In September, the local wineries are in full swing, picking grapes, ready to make the next batch of wine. (At some vineyards, visitors can help gather in the crops.) This month is the ideal time to visit, because all along the Brome-Missisquoi Wine Route, wineries are celebrating the harvest with tastings and guided tours.

Festibière de Sherbrooke – a celebration of local beers!

This year, the beerfest features a tour of the region, beyond just the city of Sherbrooke. Eight microbreweries will be participating in this annual celebration of local beers - Le Sage Brasseur, La Knowlton Co., Hop Station, Farnham Ale & Lager, Refuge des Brasseurs, Boquébière, Microbrasserie Coaticook and Confrérie Artisans Brasseurs. During Festibière, the breweries will take on a party atmosphere, with singers and live entertainment. Visitors will also be eligible for some special deals.

Rendez-vous d’Howard – an event that marries the arts, history and culture

Th 20th edition of Rendez-vous d’Howard is an annual event that takes place primarily in the magnificent setting of the Domaine Howard – a heritage home surrounded by stunning, landscaped gardens. There are tours of the house and live entertainment performed by (among others) Tocadéo (a male vocal quartet), Nicolas Pellerin and Les Grands Hurleurs (traditional Quebecois music), Florence K (a multilingual singer/songwriter) and King Melrose (also a singer/songwriter).
