Discover six pumpkin growers where they offer self-picking activities in the Eastern Townships this autumn.

Ferme des Petits Torrieux

La ferme des petits torrieux offers a wide range of activities to do all year round. Among other things, the torrieux offers you the opportunity to live customized half-days at the farm. This fall, more than 1000 pumpkins and squash are waiting for you to pick your own! Take advantage of this opportunity to stock up on your fall recipes and discover the colorful panorama of the magnificent Megantic region with family and friends.

Until October 7th, children and adults can visit the farm in the form of a rally, meet all the animals that live there and go through the gardens. An activity not to be missed!

Plantations Stephan Perreault

Every year, Plantation Stephan Perreault has almost 400,000 pumpkins available for self-picking! So, grab a wheelbarrow and explore their fields located in Val-Joli. You’ll find over 40 pumpkin and squash varieties. The children will be delighted as they visit the little haunted house, the corn field maze and the mini-farm. La Pommalbonne Orchard

In autumn, you won’t only be picking apples when you visit the orchard at La Pommalbonne… Indeed, here pumpkins are showcased as well! The site also invites you to discover their petting farm, the tractor-pulled wagon rides, inflatable games, and an observation tower overlooking the landscape of the valley of Coaticook.

La Fruitière des Cantons

In the heart of Shefford’s countryside, in a peaceful corner of the region, you’ll discover La Fruitière des Cantons where, this autumn you’ll be able to pick five pumpkin varieties and about ten varieties of squash. They also offer a stand where you can fill your supply basket with apples and different organic. Good to know, when the season is right, La Fruitière des Cantons also offers cantaloups and watermelons.

Verger Champêtre — Gîte & Compagnie

In Granby, at Verger Champêtre—Gîte & Compagnie is where you must go to choose your pumpkins and squash. The site is magnificent and invites you to also visit their animal parks, and to take a walk with an alpaca or a miniature horse. Before you leave, don’t forget to visit the orchard’s boutique where you’ll discover their meat pies, quiches, terrines, season pies, compotes, jams, juice and other homemade treats.


Le Gros Pierre Orchard

Children will be delighted to visit Le Gros Pierre orchard to pick their pumpkins! Besides self-picking activities, the orchard proposes several activities among which, the pumpkin fair which will be held next October 14 and 15. Come meet Orise the plantation’s friendly witch and visit her multicoloured pumpkin patch. Participate in the pumpkin decorating workshop and learn how to make the traditional Sainte-Catherine’s taffy.

Ferme du Péché Mignon

Located in Saint-Romain in the Mégantic region, the Péché Mignon farm also offers pumpkin picking (as well as apple and blueberry picking!). Onsite, you can also go fishing in the pond to tease some speckled and rainbow trout (free loan of equipment).
