Snowshoeing and Winter Hiking in Bromont

Well known for its ski resort, Bromont also has plenty to offer snowshoeing and winter hiking enthusiasts. With the Parc des Sommets, more than 140 km for winter activities are offered here. An overview of this vast playground and hiking options for you to enjoy throughout the season.

Extremely Pleasant!

The Parc des Sommets de Bromont is made up of five great trail networks: The Lake Gale network, the Mountain, Mounts Berthier and Oak, and the Villageois network. Along with snowshoeing and hiking, each of these networks also offers trails for cross-country skiing and fatbikes. You’ll definitely need more than just one day to explore them all!

This year, the park will also give you access to their new welcome pavilion located near Mount Oak. Practical for getting information, to warm up a bit, and to rent equipment such as snowshoes or fatbikes.

Where to Go Hiking?

To help you choose your itinerary, here are a few suggestions:

  • The Lake gale Network
Located inside a protected natural domain, the 17 km covering this network of trails are accessible to everyone during weekdays (access is reserved for residents only on weekends). For a quiet outing, head out on the Tour du lac (3.5 km). To gain some altitude, climb to the top of Mount Gale (6 km). From there, you will have a very nice view overlooking the lake by the same name as well as Mount Sutton.

  • The Coureur des Bois
Follow this Mountain network trail to the top of Mount Bernard for great views of the Mount Gale Valley and the Olympic Equestrian Park. A 4.5 km intermediate level hike.

  • The Divine
Take this Mountain network trail to climb Mount Horizon. There’s a small lookout point where you can pause a moment to admire the view.

And for Your Après-Outing?

To relax, satisfy your appetite or your thirst, there are plenty of options. Some examples? Stop by the friendly Café-Bar of the Backbone climbing centre; enjoy a pint at the microbrewery Le Brouemont, Bistro Le Calumet or at Les Brasseurs de West Shefford (Edgar Hyperlodge); Drop by the Confiserie Bromont; Savour the fine cuisine of the restaurant Chardo – Resto & bar à vin; relax in Balnea Spa’s warm pools; spend the night at the Hôtel Château-Bromont… You’ll be delighted to discover all the variety Bromont and its Vieux-Bromont sector have to offer!
