A craft market, an unusual museum and no fewer than three different festivals themed around Quebec-made spirits, gourmet food and fishing - fun activities that are on offer this weekend!

Support our local craftspeople at Sherbrooke’s Etsy Market

Building on the popularity of Sherbrooke’s Etsy Market last Christmas, the organizers have decided to run a summer version! Stalls will be set up in the basement of the Saint Michel Cathedral with a wide range of handmade items such as pottery, pictures, jewellery, gourmet products, accessories and clothing. You’re sure to find a number of items that are quite out of the ordinary!

Introduce the family to the pleasures of fishing

On Saturday, gather the family together and head for the Fishing Festival at the Lac d’Argent dam in Eastman. A fishing license is not required for this event and the attractions (in addition to fishing at the lake) include a pond for small fry, door prizes and competitions…It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a day out with your family and/or friends!

Discover an unusual museum

The Musée canadien de l’arme et du bronze houses a collection of armaments and bronzes curated under four themes – weapons, bronze, money and stamps. Established in 1999, the museum’s collection includes bladed weapons (swords, daggers, knives etc.), coins cast from gold and other precious metals, historical postage stamps and bronze sculptures, some forged by the internationally-renowned artist, Gérard Bélanger. Through the museum’s fascinating collection of artefacts, visitors learn about how Canadian society has evolved down the decades….

Booze and bands in Magog!

On June 2, 3 and 4, Parc des Braves in downtown Magog will be the site of the second edition of the Spirituo Festival. 16 distillers and a number of local mixologists will be participating in this showcase for Quebec-made spirits. Exhibitors include Les Spiritueux Ungava and the Distillerie Shefford and product tastings are part of the program. The festival lineup also features street performers and on the main stage, a show entitled La Grande-Messe, a tribute to Les Cowboys Fringants (Friday) and Israel Proulx (Rockabilly) on Saturday.

Food and fun in Dunham

La Clé des Champs, Brome-Missisquoi's gourmet festival, Is back again! The venerable food fest (It was founded in 1993) draws gourmet lovers who come to meet the exhibitors (around 50), artisans and local farmers and to sample their tasty products. On Saturday evening, enjoy the festive cocktail hour with SOCALLED!
