Les Saveurs de Three Pines: A Gastronomic Experience in Brome Lake

And what if you could discover a book… by tasting it? This autumn, the Town of Brome Lake will become the theatre setting of an original experience combining literature and fine cuisine. From October 1 to October 30, the event Les Saveurs de Three Pines invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Louis Penny’s novels through a unique menu offer.

Inspired by iconic scenes depicted in Armand Gamache’s Investigations, eleven Town of Brome Lake restaurants will be serving dishes drawn from the books: Gabri’s famous bagatelle, the Bistro’s soups, and other comforting meals described in Louise Penny’s bestselling novels. What a delicious way to discover the essence of the fictional village known as Three Pines... in this very real town!

Savour Three Pines, One Bite at a Time

From your morning coffee all the way to a gourmet evening meal, you’ll find several Brome Lake establishments participating in this amazing adventure. Each restaurant will be showcasing their take on an emblematic dish described in the literary world of Louise Penny.

The participating restaurants include:

  • Alizé du Domaine Jolivent
  • Bistro West Brome
  • Brûlerie Virgin Hill Coffee
  • Buzz Café & Bistro
  • Café Three Pines
  • Chez moi Chez toi
  • Ensemble bar à vin
  • La Knowlton Co.
  • Raffields Centrale
  • Restaurant-Bistro Le Relais
  • Restaurant Un vrai délice

They’ll all be proudly displaying the official event sticker in their restaurant windows. A small visual cue inviting you to come in and treat yourself to a delightful moment.

Psst… Some establishments will also offer deserts inspired by the books. Consult their daily menu proposals.

A Town That Has Inspired Millions of Readers

Knowlton, with its welcoming ambiance, its local businesses and peaceful setting, is a very real place close to Louise Penny’s heart. Here is where she lives, writes, and draws her ideas. Indeed, through her novels, she pays tribute to the region, the passing seasons, shared meals and all the ties she’s developed.

“In the end, my books are true love letters to the region where I found my home,” she confides. This culinary experience constitutes a delightful extension of this ideal.

The Perfect Suggestion for an Autumn Getaway

While you’re in town, discover other Brome Lake attractions. Enjoy a stroll along the Coldbrook Park trails, browse inside the village boutiques, or stop by the Musée Lac-Brome to immerse yourself in local history.

Start your day with a meal at the Restaurant-Bistro Le Relais, then head out for a walk by the lake or a visit to a neighbouring art gallery. Indeed, a very relaxing way to savour this colourful season!
