Sutton – the Eastern Townships’ mountain community

Sutton – the Eastern Townships’ mountain community

There’s no mistaking that this Cœur villageois, dominated by lofty peaks, is a mountain community. Its alpine terrain offers all manner of outdoor activities – biking, hiking, skiing and snowshoeing. Outdoor aficionados love the 52-km trail that links this Cœur villageois with the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton. Sutton is a destination where the great outdoors is the backdrop to the life of the village and its rich heritage.

Special moments

After enjoying some exercise in the fresh air, taking a break is always a good idea. Stop by the little belvedere overlooking the Sutton River in Godue Park on Maple street. Linger for a while and listen to the soothing sounds of the river as it tumbles down from the mountainside, meandering alongside the trail through the village before emptying into the Missisquoi River. This is the starting point of the Sentier Village-Montagne Trail, an oasis of peace in the heart of the community.
