Lac-Mégantic est un endroit tout indiqué pour s’adonner à plusieurs activités en plein air. C’est un véritable petit bijou, une région pleine de ressources ! En plus des routes idéales pour pratiquer le cyclisme et les magnifiques montagnes pour faire de la randonnée, on y retrouve un lac, comme une invitation aux activités nautiques qu’on ne peut pas décliner !

Lors de notre plus récent passage, nous avons d’abord fait un petit détour par le parc national du Mont-Mégantic. Nous avons fait la boucle des Trois-Sommets afin de se donner un bon dernier entraînement avant la saison de course en sentier qui s’amorce !
Nous avons aussi profité de notre passage dans la région pour faire un classique : le tour du lac Mégantic à vélo ! Ce parcours est d’une longueur parfaite pour ne pas trop s’épuiser, mais offre un niveau de difficulté tout de même appréciable avec un bon nombre de côtes entre Piopolis et Lac-Mégantic.
La cerise sur le sundae : relaxer sur le lac afin de profiter, peut-être pour une dernière fois cette année, de la joie d’être sur l’eau. Nous sommes donc allés faire de la planche à pagaie – louée chez Solstice Plein air – en fin de journée près de Piopolis. La température était fraîche, surtout après le petit orage qui est passé juste au moment où nous mettions les planches à l’eau, mais les rayons du soleil faisaient du bien alors que nous pagayions tranquillement.
Nous avons choisi de nous diriger vers une petite baie à l’abri du vent à moins d’un kilomètre du quai de départ. C’était absolument parfait pour relaxer et admirer le coucher du soleil. Avoir voulu pousser l’aventure encore davantage, nous aurions pu demander un transport jusqu’à la tête du lac pour admirer les méandres et les marécages de la rivière Bergeron et revenir vers le village, mais nous étions déjà en fin de journée et nous aurions sans doute manqué de temps. Cependant, c’est quelque chose qu’on se promet de refaire l’année prochaine !
Après être revenus sur la rive, nous nous sommes allés à la ville de Lac-Mégantic pour nous régaler à la microbrasserie La Gare’nison. L’ambiance y est super chaleureuse et nous nous y sommes tout de suite senti à l’aise. Le menu est simple, mais nous a mis immédiatement l’eau à la bouche. De nombreux classiques étaient à l’honneur, notamment le Burger Confort et la Poutine Cochonne au porc effiloché, sans parler de l’entrée de nachos ! Disons que c’est un repas qui nous a permis de reprendre des forces après une grosse fin de semaine d’activités !
Bref, la région de Mégantic est toujours un coup de cœur chaque fois qu’on y revient ! Les possibilités pour les activités sont quasi-infinies, c’est donc l’endroit parfait pour les amoureux de plein air et ce, loin des foules ! L’endroit incite au calme et permet vraiment de décrocher du tumulte de la vie quotidienne !
