Lambton

Founded in 1847, the township of Lambton owes its name to the British settlers who wished to honour John Georges Lambton, Earl of Durham and Canada’s governor general in 1838. The second St-Vital church, built between 1905 and 1907, and the second presbytery, proudly stand at the centre of the town. Since 1997, this building houses the tourist information bureau and an art gallery.

A Breathtaking Landscape

Vast farmland and forest spread here and there throughout contribute to the area panorama along with an incredible view of Grand Lac St-François. Nautical and other outdoor activities, camping and tourist accommodations are offered at the nearby Parc national de Frontenac, and at the municipal park, by the lake. An interpretation halt describes the Route des Sommets’ area theme.

Did you know that Lambton is one of the Townships “Coeurs villageois”?
