From Sherbrooke to Coaticook

To start your first day, head to Lucien-Blanchard Park in Sherbrooke! Pick up your long-term parking permit here at the Sherbrooke Tourist and Citizen Welcome Office (785 King Street West), you’ll be able to leave your vehicle in this parking lot for the duration of your stay. On this day, you’ll ride 60 km to the Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook refuge, where you’ll spend the night. The first day is gentle and takes place in a magnificent setting.

Véloroute des Grandes-Fourches

Begin your journey on this bike path along the Saint-François River. This is where you’ll slowly leave the city noise behind.

Capelton Mine

After 14 kilometers, turn onto the Massawippi Axis, where calm truly sets in. You’ll pass near Capelton Mine, a vestige of the region’s mining past. The old underground tunnels are still open for visits.

North Hatley

Next, you’ll reach North Hatley, a charming village nestled at the end of Lake Massawippi. Its Victorian-style houses, art galleries, and peaceful vibe invite relaxation. Take a break at the lookout where the river meets the lake – the view is stunning.

Fromagerie la Station

A bit further on, this family-owned cheese shop offers delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, perfect for recharging your energy. You can also pick up some artisanal cheeses and a bottle of cider to enjoy later in the evening.

Where to stay?

End the day at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook. Once settled into your ready-to-camp unit, why not enjoy the last rays of sunlight with a game of disc golf or a refreshing swim in the pool?

From Coaticook to Georgeville

After a restful night in your refuge, it’s time to hit the road again! On this second day, you’ll cover 80 km. This section is more technical but comes with lush, green scenery!

Auberge Le Sunshine

Ride to Stanstead, where you can pause for lunch at Auberge Le Sunshine, a charming café-bistro that will make you feel right at home.

On the road…

Your route then runs along the U.S. border. Between Beebe and Georgeville is Dominick’s favorite section: a narrow bike path flanked by nature. The surface varies from gravel to packed dirt and wilder segments surrounded by dense trees. In Cedarville, the view opens up at times, revealing glimpses of shimmering Lake Memphremagog.

Canton of Stanstead

Once in Georgeville, don’t miss the old-fashioned general store. Before heading south, you’ll face the day’s first challenge: a 2 km gravel cycling trail with some steep sections where you’ll definitely feel your fully loaded bike. But with patience, laughter, and some leg power, you’ll make it!

Where to stay?

Next stop: Auberge McGowan! Unlike the rustic night before, a stylish inn awaits you for the night. Celebrate your arrival with a swim in the lake followed by a delicious dinner – what more could you ask for?
