Paintings, sculptures, poetry, pottery, literature. . . There are many events showcasing art and culture in the Townships. Here are 11 of these you must place on your calendar right away.

Céramystic - Way's Mills

July 1 to July 9, 2023

With more than thirty ceramists to discover, Céramystic is an outdoors exhibition and sale event in the heart of the hamlet of Way’s Mills. Within the country setting of the Rozynski Art Centre, you’ll explore all the works of art exhibited along the trail, attend a lecture, relax in the bistro, find your new favourite mug. . . Free workshops will also offer to teach you how to shape clay and leave with your creations!

Circuit des arts Memphrémagog

July 1 to July 9, 2023

The Circuit des arts Memphrémagog presents the creations of more than forty professional artists from Magog and the surrounding region. Begin your tour by visiting the collective exhibition at the Centre d’arts visuels de Magog, where you’ll discover the work produced by painters, ceramists, jewelry makers, sculptors, to mention but a few. Then, head out on the circuit to meet your favourite artists and talk about their work. Most artists will invite you to come inside their studios, offering you an exclusive access to their creative spaces!

Tour des arts de Sutton

July 15 to July 23, 2023

For its 34rd edition, the Tour des Arts de Sutton is inviting you to meet with the region’s artists in their studios, as you drive along all the beautiful winding country roads you’ll find here. Take this opportunity to learn more about their creative process and discover some unique pieces. The 39 participating artists will also be presenting their work at a collective exhibition in Sutton.

Couleurs urbaines - Granby

July 28 to July 30, 2023

With its objective of bringing together visual artists, democratizing art and encouraging exchanges between artists and visitors, Granby’s Symposium en Arts Visuels Couleurs Urbaines is truly a great urban celebration. Attracting thousands of visitors each year, you’ll discover talents from all over Québec!

Symposium de Waterloo

August 12 and 13, 2023

Held outdoors in Waterloo’s Parc du Carré Foster, the 16th edition of the Symposium de Waterloo will showcase the work of some sixty professional painters using different mediums. In addition to presenting their works, the artists will set up their easels and create onsite, as visitors admire their talent!

La Grande Nuit de la Poésie - Saint-Venant-de-Paquette

From 3 :00 p.m. to 3 :00 a.m., a true poetry marathon will be held in the heart of the charming village of Saint-Venant-de-Paquette. Readings, performances, poetry slams, poetry karaoke, creative workshops, open mike performances, musical performances . . . under the artistic direction of David Goudreault, more than 40 artists will appear at different venues. Access is free for everyone.

Symposium Bromont en art

August 25 to August 27, 2023

A major summer cultural event, the Symposium Bromont en art is a genuine open-air art gallery, set in the heart of Vieux-Bromont, on Shefford Street. Three days of artistic festivities offering you the chance to meet Québec visual artists, to see them as they’re in the process of creating and to participate in a raffle to win a painting. It’s truly a not-to-be-missed event!

The Rendez-vous d'Howard - Sherbrooke

This year, Rendez-vous d’Howard is celebrating its twenty-one anniversary and is offering an edition filled with festivities! Musical performances are planned, in addition to the traditional guided tours of the Domaine Howard’s hundred-year-old homes. It’s the perfect place to learn more about our history, our heritage, the region’s founding arts and cultures!

Correspondances d'Eastman

The Correspondances d’Eastman event is back again this year for its 20th edition, with a program that will explore the theme L’Esprit des lieux (the Spirit of places). This great literary Correspondance gathering offers visitors an amazing opportunity to discover the region’s authors, attend shows and literary cabarets and to exchange with several passionate artists.

The Grande Virée artistique de Sherbrooke

September 22 to September 24, 2023

For more than 20 years, the Grande Virée Artistique de Sherbrooke has been inviting visitors to enjoy a walk throughout the city of Sherbrooke and meet its professional artists. It’s the perfect opportunity to visit their studios and make some amazing discoveries!

Nature et Création

Throughout the Summer, at the Domaine des Côtes d’Ardoise

A true open sky museum, Nature et Création is Québec’s largest sculpture exhibition presenting nearly 200 pieces, created by more than 70 sculptors from here and from France. Le parcours nature de 1 km est situé au pied des vignes, sur le site du Domaine des Côtes d’Ardoise, à Dunham. The vineyard’s Art et vin package is available onsite and includes an exhibition visit as well as a glass of wine or cider.
