What to do this weekend - June 28-30

A play, a softball match, horse trials, a half-marathon, afternoon tea and stalls laden with local produce…….Another great weekend in the Eastern Townships!

The first edition of the Festival du thé des Cantons (a celebration of the British tradition of serving afternoon tea) will be held on June 29 and 30 at four venues that celebrate the cultural heritage of the Eastern Townships – the Scott Tea Room, Uplands Heritage and Cultural Centre, the Colby-Curtis Museum and the Beaulne Museum. There’s nothing quite like a good cuppa!

The Demi-Marathon RBC de Sherbrooke, a half-marathon sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada, takes place this Saturday. Diehard runners and beginners alike can take part in this charity race because there is a range of distances to choose from, depending on your level of ability - 1, 2, 5, 10 or 21 kilometres.

Horse trials in Bromont


This equestrian event is divided into three phases: dressage, the marathon (which tests the endurance of horse and rider) and obstacle driving – a great opportunity to see these magnificent animals and their riders go through their paces!

Attend a softball game

Le classique pif, an annual team event that draws lovers of slow-pitch games, begins on June 24. Besides softball, there are many other activities that families, in particular, can enjoy – demonstrations of home runs, fireworks, inflatable games and performances by various singers.

Don’t miss this funny play!

Chassé-croisé is a comedy, running from June 28-August 24 at the Ancien Presbytère in Granby. Four talented actors play some 30 different characters with a lighthearted, funny touch. Enjoy the show!
