Richmond

Situated along the Townships Trail route, the town of Richmond thrived thanks to the railway. Here you’ll find a circuit featuring some 36 heritage buildings, including the former railway station, now converted into a restaurant, the former Mont Saint-Patrice convent, which houses the Centre d’art de Richmond, the nearby Sainte-Bibiane Roman Catholic church, and several residences with their distinctive slate roofs.

On the other side of the Saint-François River, by taking the steel-grating bridge, the MacKenzie Bridge, built in 1902, you’ll discover the Saint Paul French Presbyterian Church where the Centre d’interprétation de l’ardoise can be found. You’ll also discover a watersports park offering boat rentals to explore the majestic St François River. Finally, the Route verte and the Sentiers de l’Estrie run through the territory of Richmond as well. Indeed, the region has plenty to offer all great outdoors enthusiasts!
