Take your pick: adrenaline packed or slow and contemplative?
The municipality of Orford Township is an exceptional playground in and of itself, thanks to the presence of the Parc National du Mont-Orford created in 1933, the ski resort with the same name, two golf courses, the Montagnarde cycling trail, and the Centre de Villégiature Jouvence nature resort. The setting is enhanced by the presence of mountains: Orford, Giroux, and Alfred-Desrochers, and in its northern sector by lakes: Stukely, Bowker, Brompton, Fraser, and À la Truite. Nature and culture are blended at Orford Musique, which runs a summer music academy, and Festival Orford Musique, of international renown. The tiny village core at Cherry River has three major hotels, great restaurants, and grocery stores showcasing the region’s Créateurs de Saveurs, such as Gourmet par Nature’s sea buckthorn, Jardins Gourmands’ fruits and vegetables, and last but not least, the Vignoble d'Orford vineyard.
