Ideas for places to enjoy brunch, new brands of cider at Cidrerie Milton, fresh offerings at Canton Brasse microbrewery - all of which add up to a veritable gourmet weekend….And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten Mother’s Day! Our suggestions follow :
Escapades Memphrémagog kicks off its cruise season this Saturday! Treat yourself to an outing on Lake Memphremagog with a 3-hour Brunch Cruise package. Sailing at a leisurely pace on Grand Cru gives you time to admire the beauty of the surrounding landscape while tucking into a delicious, sit-down meal.
Thursday May 6, kicks off the Semaine du cidre du Quebec – 10 days of all things cider, celebrated throughout the province. As part of this drinks fest, Cidrerie Milton has put together a program of special events. It will also be launching three new brands – Kisil (flavoured with red fruits and rhubarb), Solar Eclipse 2018 (a rare blend of 10 varieties of cider apples) and Milton Star Limonade (a sparkling, ready-to-drink cocktail).
A videoconference introducing viewers to the universe of cider, will be available on Facebook from May 7 onwards. Premium ciders by the jug will also be on offer, as well as a slew of special promotions.
Canton Brasse, a microbrewery in Orford, is commemorating its second anniversary this weekend! To celebrate, the brewers have come up with a whole new selection of beers to take out, some of which can be ordered by the jug. (If consuming beer on site, proof of residency in the ‘orange’ zone is required.) Charge your glasses and wish this young enterprise ongoing success!
From Sunday onwards, the Ulverton Woolen Mill will once again be offering brunch. Diners, as they nibble on tasty fare, can enjoy the murmuring of a nearby stream, set amid a bucolic landscape laced with walking trails. Don’t miss out on taking a guided tour of the mill itself – a heritage building that brings the past alive…..
