Each of our cities and towns has something unique to offer. Whether it’s a venue, a product, a landscape, an attraction or an event, you’ll always find at least 5 good reasons to visit … Lac-Mégantic!

By Carolyne Parent

This town is a true champion when it comes to sports activities! Who hasn’t heard of the XTRI Canada Man/Woman triathlon? The Traversée internationale du Lac Mégantic? The Gran Fondo Lac-Mégantic cycling competition? While many events such as these highlight the summer months, in winter, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and family outings take centre stage here!

Let Yourself Be Guided

Are you familiar with the International Greeters Association? No? Well, you must absolutely find out more about this organization! Greeters are citizens who are so proud of their hometowns that they volunteer to act as guides for visitors who come to their city. The network has ambassadors throughout the planet, from Italy to New Zealand by way of Korea and … Lac-Mégantic! Registrations are taken online. You’ll then enjoy your town outing accompanied by a true local. Have a great visit!

These evening events are carried out in two parts. First, indoors, a presentation will familiarize you with the most powerful and complex astronomy tool ever built, the James Webb Space Telescope. Then, outside, you can observe a celestial body if the weather cooperates.
