Wine Routes
Toast to great local wine with the twenty or so wineries along La Route des vins de Brome-Missisquoi. It is the province’s only marked wine route and will take you into Dunham, the heart of Quebec viticulture. If that weren’t enough, La Route des vins de l’Estrie is also yours to discover!
Make your first foray into the fascinating world of astronomy at the foot of the mountain. Discover special exhibits and watch Rythmes Cosmiques, a film that takes viewers on an exhilarating journey to the edge of the universe on the big screen. Prefer the view from above? At the summit, you can visit the Observatory and its 1.6 metre telescope.
While the new refrigerated rink will close for the season mid-March, there’s the return of the dinosaurs to look forward to this summer. And as always, there is the Amazoo Water Park, thrilling rides—not to mention the 1,500+ adorable tenants that make Granby Zoo a family favourite destination year-round. P.S. Feast your eyes on the 17 trompe l’oeil murals in an open-air museum right downtown. From one wall to the next, the history and culture of Sherbrooke is explored in this one-of-a-kind gallery, which includes interpretive panels for each work of art.
Enter this monastery built by Benedictine monks from France and listen as the icon of the Eastern Townships reveals all of its secrets. Admire its stunning architecture, hear the sound of Gregorian chants, and enjoy the fruits of these skilled craftsmens’ labour: cheeses, ciders, cider vinegar, apple sauce, jelly and more.
Jump on your bike and discover why the Townships are best explored on two wheels. Extensive bike path networks mean you can lead a peloton or enjoy a slow Sunday ride. Want to head for the hills? Mountain biking trails abound. Pedal at your own pace and you’re sure to make plenty of lovely discoveries along the way.
Hiking, swimming, cross-country skiing, cycling, snowshoeing, torchlight excursions, climbing, paddleboarding, kayaking… Our four national parks (Yamaska, Mont-Orford, Frontenac, Mont-Mégantic) plus two regional parks (Parc régional du Mont-Ham and Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton) are the perfect place to practice your favourite sports—all year round. Come soak in the sights, enjoy a little fresh air and re-connect with Mother Nature in a pristine setting for the day, night or longer.
If there’s one thing this museum has excelled at in its 46 years of existence, it’s reinvention. With a noteworthy expansion, Fab Lab (where your own creations come to life!) and immersive multimedia experience, the museum paints a very current picture of Québécois heritage with a collection including 3,000 artefacts, recreational vehicles, fascinating objects and exclusive prototypes.
