Best Things to Do in September in the Eastern Townships

Published on Aug 15, 2025

Who says the Eastern Townships are only a summer playground? September is when the region really shines—historic towns without the crowds, fair season in full swing, and crisp, sunny days made for outdoor adventures. From Montreal or northern New England, you can be here in under two hours—but with so much to do, you’ll want to stay longer.

Feast on our Fall Harvest

September is prime time for the Townships’ legendary local produce. Start at Fête des Vendanges (Aug 30–Sept 1), where 80+ wineries, microbreweries, food producers, and artisans gather for tastings, live music, and more. It’s also grape harvest season at more than 30 local vineyards—weekend tours, tastings, and entertainment come with a side of spectacular fall colours.

For Cyclists Who Ride Hard
